The First Bloom

Not wanting to remain seedless in September, I went and bought a whole lot of seeds. Among them was a round variety of eggplant named Round Beauty. Why September, one might ask. Well, the flower shops and nurseries start their not-so-aggressive selling then. As a gardener one is always tempted to buy.  Never mind even if you lack the space for all the round beauties, a gardener always finds a way!

And in December, I’m rewarded by this bloom. The first from the batch of plants in pots and cement bags. I noticed it the other day and rushed inside the house to get the camera. And  an added bonus was this pretty ladybug.  Among all the vegetable blooms, the eggplant’s must be one of the prettiest!

      Pami/Tipu,

I ended up taking several pictures of the ladybird traversing the length and breadth of the brinjal leaf! Hey, who was supposed to be the star here:-) Thanks for coming to the housewarming!!

The ladybird definitely stole the show! Just left a note for you on Friday bloom. Just grand as usual. I forget you know me as Pami. :)))) Had a chat with Molly today with a suggestion. Have a restful weekend.

Hi Trudi….and the colour too! Most veggie blooms tend to be yellow or white. This one is so different. Thank you so much for being here! Your visits have always meant a lot to me.

Like your new home! I attempted to add it to my blog list and it did not got. It said try again later.

  9. It is a lovely flower indeed! I like the contrast of the blossom against the the textured stem of the plant. Nice new blog, the twinkling and falling stars are nice in the background…maybe its snow?

      Hi Karrita,

It’s snow! I like the falling-stars-look as you say and at this time of the year (even if I am in the tropics), why not?:) Thank you for being here! Love it!
