It’s Blooming Friday again and the theme this week is Big and Small. I just can’t wait to show off the first big bloom of my lilium. I was told that they were from the Netherlands. However no name of the cultivar was given or written. Not wanting to buy plants that might not survive our weather I played safe and bought only two. One did not make it but the one that bloomed…! Ah, I’ve been admiring it every single day and the fragrance is wonderful. Getting a whiff of the heady scent while watering the plants or while pottering around my yard is such a good feeling. Now I know what I’ll be growing by the dozen next year!!
On the other hand the ‘small‘ blooms are of the Oxalis, a common weed that threatens to take over bare soil…if there’s any left! But I love these blooms so much that I’ve pulled up the best ‘weeds’ and planted them in a pot. It makes me happy to see these cheerful little faces!

I wish you all a wonderful weekend!
Gorgeous!! I am sure the fragrance is really wonderful. Oh the small is as pretty also. Too bad I am not near you. If not I will surely drop by 😉 Have a great weekend and enjoy all your beautiful blooms!
Ah…Steph…love the thought of you dropping by. In reality!
The lilies are so beautiful….
Have a nice weekend 😉
Thanks AnneCharlotte. There’ll surely be more next year!:)
i like that weed, when given particular purpose it is not a weed anymore. The photo is also lovely.
Andrea, thanks! We have two types with purple blooms. I prefer this one. It’s a little less vigorous in its growth than its cousin…spent this morning weeding and the tiny bulbs can go deep down!
Fantastic flowers I love them all.
Have a nice weekend
Gunilla
Thanks Gunilla…hope you have a great weekend too!
The lilium is getting all the limelight! Glad one of the plants is thriving for you.
One…now my petunias must be breathing a sweet sigh of relief…(are we the only ones blooming? She’s always here!!)
Nothing is blooming in our garden right now:(
I always enjoy you pictures and information!!
Right now I write about plants and show flowers from my recent vacations in the sun.
-Cheers Gisela.
Hi Gisela, thank you for your visits!:) I’m enjoying your posts as well. Can’t wait for your beautiful garden to explode in the colours of Spring….soon….!!
Lovely pictures on the liliens.
Have a nice weekend!
Thanks!! For stopping by…for your words…hope your weekend is great!!
Lovely Asiatic lilies! I got cheated by a vendor who showed me these flowers and gave me bulbs of some other lily:( At least you did not get cheated! I enjoyed your last post on the mango blooms.
Thanks Padma…yes, I remember your post about being cheated! I’d love to grow other colours later. Glad you liked going through my last post!:-)))
Heisann! Beautiful flowers – lovely post. Have a nice weekend ;:OD)
Nina….thanks or stopping by!!
A wonderful post! I do understand your love for that Lily – it’s fantastic!
I wish you a great weekend!
Katarina…I’m so happy that your meme has given me a wonderful platform. Thanks a ton!!
I love lilliums. Nice pictures!
Lena/isis
Lena…thank you!
Weed, whats a weed? Mostly plant in it’s wrong surroundings, placed were it do no harm they can be charming, I find your Oxalis really sweet. Wonder if it’s the same oxalis we buy in pots?
Mia…I can’t say about that. The ones sold here are with the purple leaves. All the other varieties with the green leaves/lavender blooms have a knack of growing in all the wrong places!
I have no Lilys … the lillybeetles eat the up 😦 Lucky me I can enjoy your photos 🙂
Tjingeling
Monica…sorry about the beetles. Hope you’ll be able to grow them later…glad you liked my lilium! *smiling like a proud mom*
How beautiful! These remind me of the stargazer lily.
Ginny…maybe it is. It looks similar. With the same kind of heady scent too…
It’s beautiful and I’m sure it smells good too. I do like the little “weed”, it’s so pretty. Good of you to “save” it. /Anette
Thanks Anette. At least it won’t get pulled out of its pot!;)
Lovely Kanak! I am sure it is delicious to inhale as well. Have a great weekend.
