For Today’s Flowers I’m posting pictures from the garden of the guest house we stayed in on our recent trip to Shillong. All these pictures were taken in the last week of April.
Phlox and dianthus add that wonderful splash of colour.
A closer look at the miniature roses.
White blooms…not too sure about the name.
Irises on the roof of the garage and the above pictures (two of them) are potted orchids with yellow blooms.

Lovely garden! I didn’t know the name of the Star of Bethlehem, which I saw for the first time in Shillong.
Padma, I looked up the bulbous plants on http://www.flowersofindia.net or else it’d have taken me aeons to find out. A first time for me…I haven’t seen it bloom around here.
Beautiful blooms, so colourful and wonderful this place in Shiilong
OMG Kanak what beautiful blooms the guest house has! That orchid is gorgeous. Is it a ground orchid by chance?
lovely blooms. i could almost smell them from here. 🙂
What a splash of colour in that border (2nd photo) Kanak
I like the way the cymbidium is arching naturally in the pot. Over here they are always staked to stay upright but it looks very nice bending over like that.
What a beautiful garden!
