I have often written about our bonfire evenings and the singsong during the colder season. There are quite a few singers/musicians within the family. Last month some of our friends came over and we had a wonderfully pleasant evening. What made it more special was that Joysho, our nephew, ( my husband’s eldest brother’s son) had come for a sleepover. He’s only 16 and blessed with a voice that makes you want to listen again and again. He also plays the piano. You can make out from the first photo how engrossed we were in his song(s). In the second photo, the one seated on the sofa is my younger son. The TV, despite all that colour and action coming from the screen, was on mute. Cricket was on. Men!!!
Below is a video that Joysho uploaded last year. I hope you enjoy listening to his rendition of the song, Boston by Augustana.
Thank you, Kanak, so much for this. I really enjoyed having the concert here in my study, making the miles between us drift into the ether! WHAT a talented nephew – such composure, passion and professionalism.
I have been very busy this last week at the Swansea International Poetry Festival. Sadly the delegates from India were unable to join us due to visa issues, so this performance from your home has been a special treat for me instead!
I’m not sure if my first message got through, but just to say THANK YOU, Kanak … this was truly wonderful!
Hello Kanak, Thank you for sharing your talented nephew, Joysho. What a lovely voice. He has a tremendous future in music ahead for him.
I really enjoyed that Kanak 🙂 I adore music especially the singing voice, hence, in part, my chosen blog name 🙂 I thought your nephew sung very well and had some lovely top notes, and only sixteen!!
We have just enjoyed the Cardiff Singer of the World contest on TV. It is to find new opera stars and was on most of last week and ended yesterday. It is only on every other year, I always look forward to it so much!
Incidentally was the gentleman on the harmonica on one of the other You Tube videos a relation of yours? Please forgive me if I should already know! I will check back later 🙂
Jan, that’s my husband!! He plays the harmonica and that video was uploaded some months ago!:* Will get in touch with you soon!!
Amazing performance by joysho.I hope to see him live and on television as well very soon. He is so talented!
OMIGOD!!! Agim is really doing some fantastic stuff with the harmonica!!! Really getting that blues feel!!
Terrific, Kanak. Your nephew, Joysho is very good. I have enjoyed his performance. I have a little niece that dances well. LOL!
Oh my goodness! So sorry, I am sure I should have known it was your husband! I thought his harmonica playing was wonderful. You must let me know if any more of your talented family are on You Tube 🙂
Wow! Kanak your nephew is a very talented singer indeed, he should pursue it. Are there any competitions like Britain /America got talent in your part of the world? Or a version of American Idol (Indian Idol) ? Perhaps he should try for a scholarship at Berklee college of Music in Massachusetts it sounds like the school for him.
i love seeing these pictures of your family. Joysho is so very talented! He plays wonderfully and has a beautiful voice to listen to. i never heard this song, but he makes it beautiful!
Kanak. what a talented family! Not only the voice but his proficiency on the piano was impressive, the modulation as he faded out was perfect. Is there anything nicer than making music at home?
My daughter and grandchildren here on the farm all play a range of instruments and often have great jam sessions together. My daughter-in-law in Sydney plays harp and piano and youngest granddaughter is lead french horn player in one orchestra, plays viola in another and also studies violin.
Cricket is the one sport I too watch
So lovely to see your home and family.
Hugs . . . Arija!
Kanak he is so talented and has a great singing voice never mind great skills at piano playing.
That was certainly an evening to remember! Joysho’s voice is heavenly. You all look so cosy sitting in your friendly sitting room.
That’s so beautiful. Love it 😀 Thanks for telling me about this video!
Btw, I notice your plaster ceiling surface is glossy. Mine is matt 😉
You have a nice and cosy home. Perfect place for ‘bonfire’.
Joysho is a gifted singer. Hope he pursues singing professionally.
Thank you all so much for taking the time to check out the video and for leaving your precious comments here!:-))
What a talented boy! The song was sung beautifully. I presume your son must also be very talented. You had mentioned earlier about him coming all the way down to Pondy for a week’s music classes. Maybe some day you may post his drumming too.
Thanks Anita…yes, I’ll be posting about my son later. He just got back from a (drum) summer camp at the Swarnabhoomi Academy of Music. All he can talk about now is Benny Greb, the famous German drummer who conducted the camp.:)
What a talented young man he is! You must be so proud! Nice of you to share a little slice of your home life with us.
Thank you!
