Watery Wednesday/ River view

Welcome to Watery Wednesday! We’ve been getting quite a bit of rain lately. Yesterday I headed off towards the Brahmaputra river just to take this picture. Our city is on its banks! Everything was grey and the rain-bearing clouds hung low in the horizon. In summer, this vast river looks like a raging sea.

In winter, (picture below) it looks more placid and in several areas the water turns shallower to reveal sandy patches. That’s when everyone’s out to enjoy the cooler weather. The sandy beaches become a favourite spot for picnickers till the rains come again. The cycle goes on…

Oi! Seu post é interessante. Como fica diferente o rio com a mudança da estação. A árvore ao fundo da minha fot é Ipê rosa. Eles enfeitam nossa cidade nessa época do Ano. Obrigada por sua amáveis palavras. Abraços!

Beautiful pictures of the River! The Brahmaputra is so majestic. Have you read “River Dog”? If you haven’t I’d love to recommend it to you. It’s a beautiful and rather humorous account of the author’s journey down the Brahmaputra River. The book is very special to me as it helped me name my son, Kailash. And so whenever anything about the Brahmaputra comes up, I always think about this book.
