Taking A Break

A Grass Yellow butterfly on a moss rose.

I’m heading down south to visit my sister and her family. They live in Chennai and it’s so far away that we don’t meet often. For the next five days there will be no new posts and I won’t be blog-hopping either. Of course I’ll get back to business as usual when my holiday is over.:))

The picture of the Grass Yellow butterfly was taken last week. These flowers have been blooming for several weeks but now the size of the yellow as well as the white blooms have become smaller.

Tithonia /Mexican sunflower

An update.

The zinnia-like flower with the sunflower-like leaves that I included in my post yesterday has been identified by Lotusleaf of Garden Tropics. It’s the Tithonia (Mexican Sunflower). Thank you Padma for the flower ID.

Hope you all have a great week!!

The Mexican sunflower looks like a zinnia but the leaves gave it away. It is gorgeous though. Wising you a safe and pleasant journey. Do bring back photos about Chennai to share with us. Happy Diwali!

That butterfly on the moss rose is so pretty. I remember seeing a lot more of those yellow butterflies as a kid. I don’t see them as frequently now.
I’m really interested to see what pictures you may bring for us when you’re back from Chennai. You have a keen eye and a visitor’s perspective is always fresher one.

I enlarged the photos to see more details. The translucent yellow wings of the butterfly is so beautiful and looks like one with the yellow flower. Mexican sunflower is new to me. Have a nice trip.
