A Splash of Colour

My little circular patch in front of the house is vibrant with colour.

Most of it comes from the zinnias, some with single petals and some with double.

A spider finds food and shelter under a canopy of a zinnia leaf. Its web is too fine to be captured on film.

The first amaryllis of the year has just bloomed. March is the season for these pretties and I was told they’d bloom in November too but that never happened.

Here are the others waiting in the wings. It’ll be lovely to see them blooming all at once.

It will be a while before Zinnias bloom here. I pick some coriander and a few leaves of lettuce for a salad but must wait a few more weeks for a good harvest of greens.
